Ayubowan Engraved Wooden Cutting Board | Sri Lankan Gift

Welcome a little of Sri Lanka into the heart of your kitchen. This Ayubowan engraved wooden cutting board pairs the warmth of natural wood with Sinhala lettering, lotus flowers and folded-hand motifs, making a familiar greeting part of everyday cooking and gathering.

Use it for preparing snacks, arranging a cheese spread or displaying a meaningful detail in your kitchen. Choose maple or walnut, a rectangular or paddle shape, and a version with or without a drip ring. A thoughtful Sri Lankan housewarming gift, wedding gift or keepsake for someone making a home far from the island.

Design Story

✦ The Inspiration
Inspired by the warmth of welcoming someone into your home, this design brings the Ayubowan greeting to the kitchen table. It celebrates the small moments of preparing food and sharing it with people you love.

✦ The Sri Lankan Connection
Ayubowan is a traditional Sinhala greeting, commonly offered with palms joined. The Sinhala script and folded-hand imagery connect this everyday kitchen piece to Sri Lanka’s language and welcoming spirit.

✦ The Artwork
Engraved Sinhala lettering is framed by folded hands, lotus blossoms and curling botanical flourishes. The dark engraved lines contrast with the wood grain, allowing the natural character of maple or walnut to remain part of the design.

✦ A Message from Home
A familiar greeting belongs wherever you gather. Give it to someone building a new home, or keep it close as a daily reminder of your own roots.
